Dear Parents,
We are starting with our new thematic unit this month which is The Solar System. The topic will focus on the concept that Solar system constitutes of nine planets and the sun which are as follows:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
- Pluto
The children will learn that the Sun is the center of the Solar system and the nine planets orbit around the sun. These nine planets orbit in an elliptical shape and are always in motion. These planets have their moons, along with comets, asteroids, and other space objects. They all orbit around the Sun. Planets closer to the sun are hot: the planets farther away from the sun are cooler There are numerous stars in our solar system that we cannot count. Stars are small balls of fire. Some burn up and produce light and heat.
